  • Since starting the business in 2012, Jacqui Williams has photographed countless weddings and families, including large family groups, small families and children and she has extensive experience with outdoor photography of all kinds - at parks, beaches and at clients' homes.  Jacqui has also photographed many newborn babies, and has captured birth images in Adelaide's hospitals.  Jacqui has also photographed many pets both in clients' homes and outdoors at pet friendly locations.  Jacqui has photographed many events such as Christenings, milestone birthday parties, business functions, fundraising events, engagements and children's birthday parties.
  • As part of the AIPP, Jacqui has taken part in the AIPP Reflections Project, photographing surviving WWII veterans in residential care facilities and in veterans' own homes, as part of a nationwide project.  All images have been presented to the National War Memorial in Canberra as a massive archive.
  • Jacqui is a volunteer photographer for Puddle Jumpers Inc, where children and families in need attend morale building, fun and developmental camps at Clayton Bay. These children do not live with their parents for many reasons, and often do not live with their siblings.  Jacqui captures images of the families together while at camp, for them to keep and treasure, but also captures camp activities and other fundraising events, for marketing purposes to enable Puddle Jumpers Inc and the team to raise valuable funds for the charity.
  • Jacqui has also volunteered to photograph many things within the Barossa community such as holding Family Photo Days at Nuriootpa Primary School and the Nuriootpa Community Childrens Centre for fundraising.  She has also taken photos of various Nuriootpa Tigers Footy Club games at many age levels, for enjoyment, while watching her sons play for the club and has photographed some club events.
  • Jacqui is also a Heartfelt volunteer photographer, and hopes to be able to contribute to this amazing charity in a much more substantial way during 2018.

The Person and the passion

  • Jacqui Williams is a Mum of 4 children who are her entire life.  She considers herself very lucky when it comes to her children - Caitlin, Cam, Toby and Isabella.
  • Jacqui lives in Nuriootpa, in the Barossa Valley, with the 4 children and enjoys the country life and loves the local community.
  • Her working life began when finishing high school at Blackwood High and working as a nurse at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital for two years.
  • Following her time spent nursing, came some period of study at university and also having her first two children.
  • Jacqui studied the Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice degree at Flinders University full time for 5 years, while also supporting her two children.  Once her studies were completed, she graduated in 2000 and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2001.  She then joined the Graduate Program at the Australian Taxation Office and worked there until 2011.
  • During this time, Jacqui remarried and had two more children, Toby and Isabella.
  • After having Isabella, Jacqui decided on a change of direction and the family decided to move to the Barossa Valley.
  • Jacqui had received a Canon 50D camera as a wedding present and it was there that her passion for photography was born.  In actual fact Jacqui had studied photography in high school, learning on an old style SLR camera shooting in monochrome and very much loved it.
  • Having re-ignited the passion for photography, Jacqui decided to open her business on 1 July 2012, with a Facebook Business Page and a website.  The business grew from there, especially once the family moved to the Barossa Valley.
  • Jacqui enrolled in and completed the Advanced Diploma of Creative Product Development over two years, and finished with the Canon Student of the Year Award. This period of study further refined Jacqui's existing skills and also opened doors to new and interesting areas of photography.
  • During the final year of her studies, Jacqui was also accredited as a Professional Photographer with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), something of which she is very proud of, and she is honoured to be a part of an organisation which assists all photographers with technical and business issues, which helps to improve the photographer industry for both photographers and clients and is also a network of amazing and talented people.
  • Jacqui's passions for photography are in the areas of outdoor family photography and children, as well as commercial photography (especially food and products) and also in the new and developing area of birth photography.
  • Newborn photography is also a passion but Jacqui's style is a little different. It is not so much a posed newborn photography shoot with props and bean bags, but more lifestyle in its approach with a focus on the newborn and the new family, capturing images of the baby with the parents, the siblings and relatives and any other special people.  Jacqui believes that newborn photography should include the world in which the baby has arrived into, and the people in that world.
  • As a nurse, and also a Mum of 4 children, Jacqui has a passion for birth and newborn photography born out of personal experience and love for her own children.  Jacqui wishes she had birth photography taken herself, but wishes to be able to provide this option for new Mums to be, if they would like it.  Jacqui believes that birth photography is an individual and personal thing and that each session should be exactly how her clients wish it to be.
  • Jacqui has a passion for studio portraiture and studio lighting also, and hopes to one day open a studio where she can photograph amazing studio portraits for clients of all kinds.
